Day Shifts...OH MY!

This week started off really rough for me. I went to take my Compass test on Tuesday and when I got there I couldn't take my test because the network was down. That wasn't so bad I understood that it happens sometimes. I said I would come back again the next day around the same time and they said it should be good to go. Well on Wednesday I head on over to take my Compass test again and I find out that they had closed early. At this point I was getting really irritated the second trip I had made without taking my test. Finally on Thursday I went back and I got to take my Compass test. I was done withing 30 minutes which isn't too bad but it isn't the greatest either. I tested out of the remedial classes for math and they recommended college level Intermediate Algebra. I was just glad I finally got the Compass test out of the way. November 26th starts when I can register for a class. I will start off with one class and go from there.

This week ended great! Ricky called and let me know that the part time workers were laid off. Which, of course, worried me that he would be the next one gone. He told me that his step grandpa actually really likes him and wants to go to college to learn more about becoming a machinist. How great is that?! And also, that he might be able to help him out with some of his college! How neat?! And to put the icing on the cake because of some layoffs they have put everyone on day shifts. Being patient has really paid off for him! It will be nice to have our nights together.

Saturday Hailey and I went to see Twilight Breaking Dawn part 2 and it was good :) Hailey did get a little upset in some parts which was kind of funny! You will have to ask her why she was getting upset. I finished up Saturday night going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the UFC fights with Ricky. All in all, the week started off rough but ended great! Hope everyone has a great week.

TrIcK oR tReAt

So I have been told that it has been almost a month since my last post! Oh my has time flown by without me realizing it. My updates are very minimal. I am loving my job and it's been so great being away from a call center. For Halloween I am sitting here watching Hocus Pocus by myself and eating some homemade soup while Ricky is at work. I am so excited to see all the costumes and this is my first year handing out candy. I am surprised that I just had my first two trick or treaters since we are in an apartment complex and most people don't go where there isn't a lot of lighting. They were super cute as a ghoul and a nurse :) Let's hope that more of them come otherwise I will have to eat all of the candy myself! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Halloween!

A New Beginning

It's so hard to believe that I have been engaged for 5 days! I am so happy and excited! Ricky was so great about planning it and making it a total secret. I will always remember how special his proposal was :) The whole week before Ricky was talking about doing a time capsule together to dig up in 15 years and see what has changed. Well we started gathering memories about our life together and finally bought something we could bury them in. Sunday September 16th he took me up to Camel's Back in Hyde Park and made me hike all the way to the top in flip flops! haha! We had brought up some stuff for out time capsule to just look over and read while enjoying the view. I read some of my notes that I had given him clear back in high school! Then Ricky said he had a letter to read me, because of course me being me I wrote him probably 20 times more then he wrote me, so he was trying to make up for that with this letter. The letter told of our life journey and how we met and at the end he said "We have some amazing memories together but I feel that, that is only the beginning and that this story is only missing one thing to make the first chapter of this story complete. But instead of me writing it down I will show you what we are missing." He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! :') I started crying and of course I said YES!!

We have now ended the first chapter of our story together and are continuing to the second chapter with what ever it may bring. As of now I see our second chapter holding school in our future, a wedding, and just pure happiness. I couldn't ask for a better fiance who makes me complete, who loves me for my good and bad, who loves me for me, and who will love me unconditionally for the rest of our lives.

Enlistments & Birthdays & Such

My little brother has made the whole family proud! He is now enlisted with the air force and was sworn in yesterday. I couldn't be more proud of him. He will go so far and do so great. I hope those shooting games on Xbox will help him protect us, or that he doesn't get too goofy like he does at home. haha! But, we are all really proud of him and excited to see what his future brings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICKY! Today is Ricky's 20th birthday and we celebrated going to On the Border and had some cupcakes. I am glad that I got to spend the day with Ricky and help him celebrate the big 2-0! He is no longer a teenager :P

As well today I helped my mom out with taking her to and from her surgery she had today. She got her wisdom teeth pulled and man is she a trooper! She was just talkin away after the surgery which after having mine done I didn't really feel like talking. I don't have any pictures of her to post on here, but from after the surgery she wasn't too swollen (lucky duck!)  so there isn't much to show off for her.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." ~Groucho Marx

One Door Closes....Another One Opens

Well today was the day that my job at Centurylink has come to an end. I was let go due to not meeting my numbers. All I can say is that I'm proud of myself for working so hard and never giving up even when I wanted to. So my chapter with that part of my life has closed. I am looking forward to finally completing my FASFA so I can start looking at schools and getting a job that isn't based off of sales. While my door has closed Ricky's has opened! Thankfully (with perfect timing) Ricky started working at another job that will be able to support us. I am so thankful for that opportunity that he has gotten. I will keep everyone updated with all news that I get!

Blessings and Smiles

This week I have experienced the most wonderful thing I have ever seen or heard of. While at work I became truly humbled with one woman's actions that helped me realize blessings come in all shapes and sizes. This woman called in and wanted to set up internet for someone she hasn't seen or talked to in over 25 years. Now normally this happens and the person calling in puts it in the other persons name and just pays it for a while, but this woman put everything in her name. She put it in her name but gave the service to this other woman. The woman she was giving it to had pancreatic cancer and had already tried to have surgery to get it remove but had relapsed. She is now going through chemo and radiation and can no longer afford some of her bills. The woman I talked to wanted to help her with her internet and pay everything so this woman battling cancer had one less bill to worry about and could continue to blog about her triumph and trials battling with cancer. It was the most heart touching moment I have had where I work. Someone was being so helpful for someone who she barely knew anymore.

There are great people out there willing to help others and I know that this story will stick with me forever. Not only was I blessed to be apart of something so amazing but also Ricky was blessed this week as well. He has been offered a job with his step grandpa and he will be making good money. That helps relieve a lot of stress off me with me coming close to losing my job. God is listening to us and helps us just at the right moments, never too soon and never too late. I am very happy and fortunate that we have been blessed with this as well.

This weekend we are celebrating my grandparents 40 year anniversary, and a Happy Anniversary to them! :) Other then that I am going to relax and enjoy my time off for awhile before it's back to another very busy work week. Lots of overtime planned for me on Monday! (and not by choice haha!)  But along with everything else I am truly blessed to have a job and a place to call my own!

Family Time

This past weekend was exactly what I needed: fun in the sun, spending time with family, and not having a care in the world. It has been awhile since I have gone camping with all of the family. The weekend was all jokes, fun, and just catching up. We had baby Kimberly up with us for her first time. She was entertaining everyone as we were trying to entertain her. It was so cute watching the boys trying to make her laugh and smile, although Luke did succeed in doing it quite a few times. Our hike was absolutely brutal...as Matt would say: "it's just over the ridge" I think we managed to go over probably a dozen ridges that should have ended our hike. Even though it took longer then expected it was exciting going over the actual final ridge and seeing the secluded lake.  On the way up camping and back my car over heated on me. Talk about extreme heat! Having to drive all the way back in 100 plus degree weather and have the heat up full blast to keep the car from overeating was very tortuous! But I made it and survived, and thanks to Heath and Jim my car is fixed and I'm not over heating anymore. The guys in my family have helped me out a lot with my car and I appreciate it so much. I would probably be hitch-hiking back if it weren't for them. Thanks guys!

Now I just had my dentist appointment yesterday, the one I have been anticipating and fearing for the last week. The news is I have to have them surgically removed. I am very scared since this will be my first surgery ever! I have my consult tomorrow and I will let you all know when the surgery is scheduled for!

July Beginnings

It seems that I have missed doing a single post in June...oops! With a busy life lately it's been hard to keep up with this blogging. I keep saying I will do better but I don't!

I am hoping to get my car fixed to emissions standards so that I can have one less thing to worry about as far as that goes. It should be an easy fix and thanks to the family members that have offered to help me it should be done here shortly and my car's engine light should disappear! Thank Goodness!

Work has it's up and downs as usual especially this last month. Sometimes customers can just drive you over the edge, but I am trying to stay positive and happy! I did get this cool little certificate because one of the customers I had helped did a survey and said they would recommend    products to their friends and family based off of their experience with me.

July is starting off great! I had a relaxing day with Ricky and now I am just preparing myself for the busy but fun week ahead. Camping with the family this weekend and just have a day off for the 4th of July will be great. The only thing I worry about is that my wisdom teeth are coming in. I have a dentist appointment in a few weeks and I hope that everything is ok. I don't really want my teeth pulled out. I am kind of scared! haha Here is to another week filled with lots of fun!

Magnificent Mothers!

This weekend was absolutely gorgeous! The weather was beautiful and sunny. Friday Ricky and I went to the park and enjoyed ourselves a nice walk around the park and ended up walking around the BSU campus. It really got me thinking about how much I really want to go to school so my goal is to start finding out what I want to do and get applying! Saturday I went out to my parents place and enjoyed an entertaining day with my mom, Jim and my sister Hailey. Jim fixed up my car and so far everything is working as it should, keeping my fingers crossed for the engine light to stay off permanently. Sunday was PERFECT!! Celebrating Mother's Day and Jim & Papa's birthday was great. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ had fun chit chatting and then the fun really began. The water balloon shooting/fight was a lot of fun. I did learn that a water balloon that's sling shot super high and is bombing down should not be attempted to be caught...water balloon to the hand = stinging hand! haha It was a great weekend that couldn't have ended better.

Summer Tans In April?!?

It has been such a wonderful weekend, with all the clear sunny days. I even got my first sun burn of the year, in April! Another week of work has gone by so fast and with it so has the weekend. Summer days are slowly approaching us and I can not wait to get tan make that get more sun burns! I can never seem to tan my very white legs but I will stay hopeful this year that I will actually get a tan! This weekend has been filled with having fun in the sun and just trying to stay cool while doing it. I had a fun time at Ann Morison Park and hope to go back again sometime soon.

April Blessings

April has brought many blessings already! It's only 3 days in and there have been so many great things happening. First off there is a cute baby girl now joining the family. It took my cousin Kimberly Dawn Housley until 10pm to make her appearance. I loved that all the family was there throughout the whole day to welcome her into this world. This family has been there for each other through everything and it truly is the greatest blessing of all! The next blessing I have had is that I still have another month with my job. I was afraid that if I didn't meet my numbers that it would be the end of the line for me with my job. BUT someone has other plans for me and I am keeping my job for another month. With these two huge HUGE blessings the month of April as already started off better then I had expected. With this weather starting to finally look great it should start becoming a better month. Other then these two blessings not much has changed from my day to day life. Just enjoying life's little moments:

Valentine's Day

This Valentine's Day was a very special one for me. I got off work at 7 not expecting to come home to anything, and to my surprise of course was a candle light dinner and some gifts. The roses were beautiful and everything was just so special. It is one that I won't forget especially since I got Ricky to watch Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 with me ;) I want to give a late shout out to the one's I love in my life! You all are so amazing and always will hold a special place in my heart.

Bogus Blast

Bogus Basin was let's just say.....AMAZING! For our first time skiing we did pretty good. Ricky picked it up so fast and it did take me a few times to get it down. I am proud that we did so great and kept going. Eventually we will be pros's ;) It is something that I want to keep up with and just get better. It is so much fun going down the hills, picking up speed and just enjoying the thrill! Now to just keep going up every chance we get. The rest of the weekend is pretty busy but should be fun celebrating some birthdays! :)

This is just a cute picture I found of my little Raja. He is just getting so big and he is such a huge cuddler I lover it!

Let It Snow...Let It Snow

This week has been pretty good for us! We got internet on Monday and have just been working away. I'm getting excited to go skiing for my FIRST TIME EVER!!! I hope that it goes smoothly and that I don't fall on my rear too many times. haha! Knowing me though it will probably be what I'm doing the whole time. The weeks just seem to be flying by and pretty soon summer will be here. I hope everyone has a good safe week and enjoys their weekend!

Thrills of Renting an Apartment

I have found out this last month how much I appreciate the convience and privacy of my own washer and dryer. I miss sitting at home relaxing while the laundry was going. Now i stress about if I am going to forget a sock or I am constantly looking at the washer or dryer to make sure no one is going near it to try to steal my clothes. haha! Im not saying that people would just that being in a public place doing laundry makes you worry about things like that. Once i have a washer and dryer of my own I will never take them for granted that is for sure. I will enjoy not having to getting a billion quarters just to make sure my clothes are dry, or having to double check to make sure I have all my clothes. Besides my new found "Love" of laundry mats I have no new news or stories of importance. :)

Blissful Weekend

This weekend has been exactly what i needed. Ricky and I relaxed all weekend and watched movies to prepare us for the week ahead. We ate some delicious hot wings for dinner that Ricky made and I made a great breakfast! :) The best thing to come is the interview he has with DirecTv tomorrow. I pray it all goes well and he gets the job!

Goodbye 2011..... Hello 2012!

2012 has quickly approached me and I'm hoping that with the new year things will only keep getting better. My goals for the new year are to do better in my job and make as much commission as i can ;) to get a better lifestyle and stay fit and healthy, to start college as soon as possible, and to keep with all of these goals. With 2011 I can only say that the year has changed me and for the best. I learned to live on my own and provide for myself. I managed to keep a good and steady job. I moved back home to be closer to my friends and family and I have done great so far. 2012 can only bring more success and happiness then in 2011. I'm just glad to have so many loved ones in my life to help me through everything!
