A New Beginning

It's so hard to believe that I have been engaged for 5 days! I am so happy and excited! Ricky was so great about planning it and making it a total secret. I will always remember how special his proposal was :) The whole week before Ricky was talking about doing a time capsule together to dig up in 15 years and see what has changed. Well we started gathering memories about our life together and finally bought something we could bury them in. Sunday September 16th he took me up to Camel's Back in Hyde Park and made me hike all the way to the top in flip flops! haha! We had brought up some stuff for out time capsule to just look over and read while enjoying the view. I read some of my notes that I had given him clear back in high school! Then Ricky said he had a letter to read me, because of course me being me I wrote him probably 20 times more then he wrote me, so he was trying to make up for that with this letter. The letter told of our life journey and how we met and at the end he said "We have some amazing memories together but I feel that, that is only the beginning and that this story is only missing one thing to make the first chapter of this story complete. But instead of me writing it down I will show you what we are missing." He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! :') I started crying and of course I said YES!!

We have now ended the first chapter of our story together and are continuing to the second chapter with what ever it may bring. As of now I see our second chapter holding school in our future, a wedding, and just pure happiness. I couldn't ask for a better fiance who makes me complete, who loves me for my good and bad, who loves me for me, and who will love me unconditionally for the rest of our lives.

Enlistments & Birthdays & Such

My little brother has made the whole family proud! He is now enlisted with the air force and was sworn in yesterday. I couldn't be more proud of him. He will go so far and do so great. I hope those shooting games on Xbox will help him protect us, or that he doesn't get too goofy like he does at home. haha! But, we are all really proud of him and excited to see what his future brings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICKY! Today is Ricky's 20th birthday and we celebrated going to On the Border and had some cupcakes. I am glad that I got to spend the day with Ricky and help him celebrate the big 2-0! He is no longer a teenager :P

As well today I helped my mom out with taking her to and from her surgery she had today. She got her wisdom teeth pulled and man is she a trooper! She was just talkin away after the surgery which after having mine done I didn't really feel like talking. I don't have any pictures of her to post on here, but from after the surgery she wasn't too swollen (lucky duck!)  so there isn't much to show off for her.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." ~Groucho Marx
